MRI and CT Field Service on the Space Coast: Melbourne, Palm Bay and Brevard County

AMT Imaging Solutions is based in Palm Bay. For imaging centers, hospitals and practices in Brevard County, the engineer who answers the phone is the one who does the work, and he isn't driving in from another state.

Mike Jackson leads AMT's MRI work. He has more than 25 years in imaging field service since 1999 and is a GE MRI instructor on the Signa HDxt, Optima MR450w and MR750w. AMT is an independent service company. It isn't GE or Siemens, and it services GE and Siemens MRI and CT systems.

What we do on the Space Coast

  • MRI preventive maintenance. Scheduled PM following the manufacturer's procedure, with image quality and safety checks and a written field service report. Plans run from $2,000 per year for one annual visit, and a single visit is $2,400. See MRI preventive maintenance.
  • CT preventive maintenance. Cooling, gantry, tube hours, detectors and the fault log, checked before they cost you a shift. See CT preventive maintenance.
  • Contrast injectors. Bayer/Medrad and Bracco injector PM and repair, often done on the same trip as the scanner. See contrast injector service.
  • MRI chillers and cold heads. Florida heat and humidity are hard on outdoor chillers. If helium use has crept up or the chiller is alarming, call before it becomes a quench. See MRI chiller and cold head service.

Local pricing terms

Because the Palm Bay base is local, many Brevard sites fall within the first 30 miles, where no mileage is charged. Past 30 miles, mileage is $0.85 per mile. Standard labor is $295 per hour, 7 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday. After-hours, weekend and holiday work is $442.50 per hour. Every repair and PM visit carries a 30-day workmanship warranty.

Who we work with

We work with outpatient imaging centers, orthopedic and specialty practices that run their own MRI, and hospitals that want a second option alongside OEM service. AMT is an SBA-certified SDVOSB/VOSB, which helps when a buyer has veteran-owned sourcing goals.
